Admin/Biographical History This is a piece of commemorative mail carried on Southern Airways first flight A.M. 98, TUPELO, Part 1 of segment number 1 (DC-3 aircraft). This first flight cover was mailed to Frank Hulse, founder of Southern Airways.
Scope & Content First flight cover from Southern Airways. Pink cachet reads: "U.S. Air Mail / FIRST FLIGHT / A.M. 98 / TUPELO / PART 1 OF SEGMENT NUMBER 1" and has route map showing new service from Atlanta to Memphis (with stops) and a DC-3 aircraft. Postage stamp for 6 cents probably features a Douglas DC-6. Envelope is addressed to Mr. Frank Hulse, Southern Airways, Birmingham, Ala.
