The bulk of the correspondence dates from 1939-1949, and includes correspondence with cotton growers in the Canete Valley, Peru, where Coad did freelance consulting work to assist hacienda owners with their crop infestations. Matryoshka doll, also known as a Russian nesting doll and babushka doll. A set of five painted wooden dolls of decreasing size, placed one inside another. The four largest dolls are each made of two pieces. The smallest doll is one piece. Each doll is painted with brunette hair, a flight attendant uniform and large "wings" pin representing an airline. Labels and bag tags are from Delta Air Lines, American Airlines, Eastern Air Lines, Pan American World Airways, United Air Lines, Atlantic Coast Line Railroad, Nassau customs and the Marine's Memorial Club of San Francisco.

The back cover has a full-color illustration of a Boeing 707 and New York Airways helicopter over the Pan Am Worldport terminal building at New York-Idlewild airport (later New York-JFK), which opened in 1960.
