Published Date 1929-2009
Call# TL720.8 .O38X, HE9768 .O3X, HE9768 .O32X
Object Name Periodical
Summary Monthly publication of worldwide and North American airline flight schedules, also called "timetables," showing flight times, fares, cities served and equipment (aircraft types). Also found in this publication are airline route maps, print advertisements and the names of airline executives. Beginning in 1956, the OAG was published each month as two volumes: a North America Edition and a World-Wide Edition.

Earlier titles: The Official Aviation Guide of the Airways (1929-1948), Universal Airline Schedules (1943-1944), American Aviation Traffic Guide (1944-1948).

On March 4, 1948, American Aviation Associates purchased The Official Aviation Guide of the Airways, the oldest airline guide in the world. (For more details, see page 4 of the April 1948 edition.) The Official Aviation Guide was published from January 1929 to March 1948, initially by John Fletcher, then by The Official Aviation Guide, Co. We have issues for this publication from 1929-April 1947.

Also included in this collection are copies of another flight schedule monthly publication published by American Aviation Associates with the title of Universal Airline Schedules in April 1943, then as American Aviation Traffic Guide in October 1944, and continued as Official Airline Guide since September 1948.

The Delta Flight Museum's OAGs are filed chronologically in 120 record center boxes, and amount to approximately one-half to two-thirds of all the issues published from 1929-2009. Dates listed below are for the earliest and latest issues found in each boxes (missing issues are not indicated):
