Provenance From the December 1964 issue of company magazine Delta Digest, "Portrait of the Boss," page 22: "'Delta pilots recently presented Delta President C.E. Woolman, with a portrait painted by J. Anthony Willis of Houston. [Photographed at the presentation of the painting:] Captain Truman Outland, Mrs. Outland, C.E. Woolman, Robert L. Griffith, vice president, and F.J. Schwaemmle, director of public relations. In presentation remarks, Outland said, "On behalf of the pilots of Delta Air Lines, our wives and children, in appreciation for what you have done for us, and permitted us to do for ourselves, we now present you with this portrait."

The painting was also featured on the cover of the May 1965 issue of the Delta Digest, celebrating C.E. Woolman's 40th Anniversary.
