Reproduction blouse commissioned by the Delta Flight Museum in 1997 for display of Delta's second flight attendant uniform, also called 1940-1942 Summer Uniform. Worn by Delta Chief Stewardess Laura Wizark, who was Delta's first flight attendant instructor. She came from American Airlines to teach Delta's first flight attendant class in 1940.
Blouse as made by Gloria Washington of Dunwoody, GA. Blouse material, pattern, buttons and thread were purchased by Curator of Collections Carrie Taylor at Hancock Fabrics. Former Delta flight attendants (then called stewardesses) Kathleen Owen and Birdie Perkins Bomar provided photos and descriptions that assisted with creating the reproduction.
