Description Delta Brake-to-Wheel Alignment Tool for Douglas DC-6 aircraft. Tool consists of a light yellow-painted metal piece attached to a red nylon ribbon. Used to hold a loose rotating brake disc plate in perfect alignment for wheel cleat engagement while resting on the axle, allowing one mechanic to install the wheel assembly.

Provenance Delta mechanics used this type of tool for Douglas DC-6 aircraft in the Delta fleet. This tool was used by James L. Tyson, who donated it in 1993, when he was a retiree from Dept. 371 Hydraulic Maintenance Overhaul at Delta's Technical Operations Center in Atlanta.
