Description This Delta Douglas Brake Gauge made of aluminum was an aircraft brake wear pin indicating tool. Mechanics used it to make an accurate check of brake wear on Douglas DC-8 and DC-9 aircraft during all phases of maintenance. Engraved on back with Part Number 10M-13130 and "Tyson 371."

Provenance Delta mechanics used this type of tool for Douglas DC-8 and DC-9 jets in the Delta fleet from 1959-mid 1970s. This tool was used by James L. Tyson, who donated it in 1993, when he was a retiree from Dept. 371 Hydraulic Maintenance Overhaul at Delta's Technical Operations Center in Atlanta.
