This piece of hand-painted glass is from a window at the Peabody Hotel in Memphis. C&S had a City Ticket Office (CTO) at the Peabody Hotel.
The C&S Rocket (or Comet) trademark was adopted in 1946. Designed by Van Dorn, Nowland and Schladermundt of New York. Logo elements were colors of lemon yellow and dark green, three stars and slogan "The Route of the Dixieliners." In 1950, the brand was updated with an ampersand replacing the star.
