Provenance This desk set was presented to C.E. Woolman, Delta's principal founder and first CEO, by Don Douglas, founder of The Douglas Aircraft Company. It commemorates their friendship and Delta as the world's first airline to fly in scheduled service the Douglas DC-8 in 1959 and the DC-9 in 1965.
