Description Round metal sign painted orange with black border. Top of sign has this slogan in black: "The Valley Level Route" Top half of sign has white letters with black borders: CHICAGO & SOUTHERN. Lower section of sign has a large white/orange/blue/black FLY C&S Logo.
Provenance The June 1, 1940 C&S system timetable describes the "The Valley Level Route" as being "900 Miles of Flat Country" between Chicago and New Orleans via Memphis with "Fine Airports" and "A Splendid Airway".
